Senior Director, ANCC Pathway to Excellence® and Well-Being Excellence™ Programs

Christine Pabico is a nationally recognized thought leader and expert in creating high-reliability organizations and positive practice environments. As Senior Director of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Pathway to Excellence® and Well-Being Excellence™ programs, she is dedicated to equipping healthcare organizations worldwide with evidence-based strategies that foster cultures of engagement, empowerment, and clinician well-being. Her work advances environments where nurses and interprofessional teams can thrive, ultimately improving patient outcomes and organizational performance.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience, Dr. Pabico holds a doctoral degree and is ANCC board-certified as a Nurse Executive. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Her doctoral research explored the relationship between nurse manager competencies, practice environments, and frontline nurses’ intent to stay, underscoring her lifelong commitment to building healthy workplaces.

Dr. Pabico is a global speaker and prolific author, contributing peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and grants that shape nursing practice and leadership. She serves on the American Academy of Nursing’s Building Health Care System Excellence Expert Panel and is a Tier 1 collaborator for The Lorna Breen Foundation’s ALL IN: Wellbeing First for Healthcare coalition. Additionally, she sits on the editorial board of American Nurse and World of Health journals, and recently completed her term as Immediate Past President of the Philippine Nurses Association of Metropolitan DC.

Through her leadership, scholarship, and advocacy, Dr. Pabico continues to champion clinician well-being and organizational excellence, inspiring transformative change across healthcare systems globally.
