Bryony Ashcroft is an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse committed to improving the wellbeing of the nursing and midwifery workforce. Her career spans dementia care, crisis services, community teams, occupational health, and service development, reflecting a dedication to sustainable change.

In 2015, Bryony co founded DemCares, the first specialist dementia service in Tamil Nadu, India. In addition, she trained local nurses in dementia care and provided strategic guidance to strengthen mental health nursing practice. After returning to the UK, she held senior roles in crisis, home treatment, and community mental health teams, supporting people at critical points in their recovery.

Motivated by a commitment to supporting healthcare staff, Bryony designed and led a mental health and wellbeing service for NHS employees in 2024. The programme received the Society of Occupational Medicine’s Outstanding Occupational Health Initiative award for its assessments, targeted staff support, multi agency collaboration, and tailored training.

Since January 2026, Bryony has served as Wellbeing Manager at Cavell, where she co leads the development of the Wellbeing Conversations service, offering support to nurses and midwives across the UK. She believes that when healthcare professionals are supported to care for themselves with the same dedication, they offer others; individuals, teams, and systems can truly thrive.
