Jay Hamilton is the Director of Product Sales for Medline’s Advanced Wound Care portfolio, where he leads national strategy at the intersection of clinical practice, education, and innovation. Throughout his tenure, Jay has spearheaded multiple initiatives focused on improving patient outcomes while advancing caregiver safety, most notably Medline’s Safe Mobility Program and Medline’s Pressure Injury Prevention Quality Improvement Programs. These initiatives are designed to deliver practical, scalable solutions that drive meaningful clinical and operational outcomes for healthcare facilities.

A clinician by training and a systems-level leader in practice, Jay has built and led multidisciplinary teams dedicated to translating evidence-based principles into clear, actionable education for frontline clinicians. He is a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences, including the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN), the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), and the Association of Safe Patient Handling Professionals (ASPHP). His quality improvement work has also been presented at conferences such as the National Bariatric Solutions Conference and the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care, and published in peer-reviewed journals including The BMJ, reflecting his commitment to advancing patient safety through measurable, sustainable improvements.

Jay holds certifications in Safe Patient Handling, Patient Safety Processes, and Wound Care, along with a Master’s degree in Healthcare Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He currently serves as President of the Association of Safe Patient Handling Professionals (ASPHP), where he provides strategic leadership, governance oversight, and direction in support of the organization’s mission to reduce caregiver and patient harm.

Prior to his leadership roles, Jay practiced clinically in trauma, emergency, and intensive care settings. These experiences continue to inform his pragmatic approach to education, product strategy, and system improvement. Known for bridging clinical credibility with commercial and organizational insight, Jay remains focused on advancing safer, more effective care through collaboration, innovation, and education.
