I have been CEO for The Foundation of Nursing Studies (FoNS) since 2019. FoNS is a UK charity dedicated to improving care by developing and supporting nurses, midwives, and their teams. We believe that when professionals are valued and empowered to lead cultural change, care quality and outcomes improve.

Our work promotes compassionate, person centred cultures in which staff wellbeing, relational leadership and experiential learning are integral to everyday practice. We collaborate across health and social care to strengthen leadership, enhance care quality, and support sustainable improvement.

Through tailored programmes, communities of practice, research, and shared learning, FoNS enables teams to reflect on their work, test new approaches and embed meaningful change. We support colleagues at every career stage, from students and early career practitioners to senior leaders.

By bringing together practice, experience, and evidence, FoNS helps create environments where people feel heard, respected, and involved in decisions about their care.
